Eligibility
Archive11 accepts submissions from the extended Chicago area and from art and design schools throughout Illinois. Work created by designers, agencies, companies and non-profit or government organizations located or based in Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will counties will be accepted. Student work from any school, college, university, academy or institute in the state of Illinois is also accepted. Submissions will not be accepted by designers not currently working in these areas. Categories
Submit work in any category listed on entry form. If you’re unsure in which category to enter a specific piece, select the closest category and Archive staff will move it to a more appropriate category. By submitting work, you acknowledge the right of the STA to use the entry or images of the entry for exhibition, publication, or on the STA or the CDA websites.
Deadline
Submission deadline is 23 July 2011 at 8:00pm.
Last-chance deadline is 30 July 2011 at 8:00pm.
All materials submitted after 23 July must be accompanied by a late fee of $5 per entry. We will accept NO submission(s) after Friday, 30 July 2011 at 8:00pm.
Fees
Non-member $20 per entry
STA Member $15 per entry
Students $10 per entry
Print Campaign and Identity Program items (all collective pieces within each) are considered one piece/submission and subject to only one entry fee.
Notification of Selected Work
All entrants will be notified of the selections by Monday, September 5. Those whose work has been selected will be asked to submit further credits and an additional copy for the Archive11 exhibit. All selections become part of the permanent collection of the Chicago Design Archive.
Presentation Gala
Designers whose work has been selected will receive a certificate and keepsake book. They will be available on Friday, 7 October 2011 at the Gala opening of the Archive11 exhibit at the Harrington College of Design. Formal invitations with full details will be sent to all Archive entrants following the selection process.
